Hi [NAME],
A note from Angus...
Life is full of ups and downs! On the down side Scotland have had a disappointing Six Nations rugby tournament but on the plus side performances are improving topped off by a great win in Dublin! Also on the plus side Spring is in the air at Teaghlach Wood and planting has begun in earnest on Phase II.
We have been as busy as ever trying to get support for the woodland as it is you guys who really make things happen - so thanks for your support.
I really hope that you all enjoy this edition of The Branch.
Trees4Tries
From now until the end of the Six Nations in 2011 Trees4Scotland will plant 5 trees for every try that Scotland score. It will be just the incentive they need as they build for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand!
A similar scheme will run with Edinburgh Rugby until the end of this season. Edinburgh are flying high and in with a great chance of winning the league and as they score a lot of tries we will plant one tree for every try scored and 100 trees if they win the Magners League this year! This will be more than enough for every squad member.
Scotland prop Allan Jacobsen and friend of Trees4scotland states, "We are delighted that Trees4Scotland are supporting Scotland and also Edinburgh where I play my club rugby. We will do our best to score loads of tries".

There will be lots more messages of support from the Scotland stars coming soon on You Tube so watch this space!
Native trees - 2 for 1 on Scots Pine
As most of you know the trees we plant in Teaghlach Wood comprise a variety of native species mostly broadleaf such as Oak, Birch, Rowan and Willow. There will, however, be some pockets of Scots Pine seeded from the original Caledonian Pine forest.
We aim to plant about 6,000 of these and can offer them on a first come first served basis at a discounted rate until the end of April. On checkout on www.trees4scotland.com please enter "scotspine" to get each tree for £5 instead of the usual £10.
Who is the Greenest Scottish Celeb?
Answers on a postcard please to gus@trees4scotland.com - we have already ruled out Kermit the Frog and the Incredible Hulk although if they stayed here for three years they might get picked for the Scottish Rugby team on residency grounds!
We are trying to get some support for our cause from ‘green celebs’ but have no idea how to contact any - so your help is needed!
There have been some great suggestions through our Facebook page and I guess they do not need to be Scottish - green is good enough! Here are some of the suggestions: Leo Di Caprio, Johnny Depp, Prince Charles, Prince William, Richard Branson, Susan Boyle, Bill Bryson, David Tennant, Gerard Butler, Fish, Billy Boyd, Cameron Diaz, and Ewan McGregor.
Any of them would do as far as we are concerned - Ewan McGregor especially as Teaghlach Wood is just down the road from where he grew up.

Let's hope the TV performance was not too 'wooden' (groan)
BBC TV cameras graced us with their presence at Teaghlach Wood earlier this month and Angus Crabbie was interviewed by David Allison from Politics Scotland. The topic was all about action to combat climate change and whether the public is receiving confused messages through the media. Angus followed the Pope and the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown in the scheduling! Read more.

New websites in the process of going live
We are currently in the process of revamping our websites to give them a fresh new look and feel. The Whispering Wood now has its very own identity and website - check it out: www.trees4scotland.com/whispering-wood

Our woodland projects...
New Photos of Teaghlach Wood Phase II
The second phase of Teaghlach Wood is taking shape thanks to all of your kind support. Without people planting trees via our websites the woodland would not exist. We have reached a really exciting stage as the second stage is a 35 hectare plot of hillside and once it is all planted it is going to look amazing!
Planting, of course, is only part of the process of developing a successful woodland but it is the most satisfying part. In order to get to the panting stage we have had to control bracken, deer fence off the 35 hectares, mound the ground where possible and get the project through planning!
We hope that you enjoy some of these recent pictures
The Whispering Wood
The Whispering Wood is proving so popular that we are giving it is own identity and website. We have designed a logo and signage will also be going up soon on site. We will make sure the moment and message lasts forever.
Special introductory offer of £49.95 for a tree and engraved plaque.
