The Trees4Scotland campaign was launched at The Business Show’ in Fife last month. Angus and Ali attended the show and met lots of interested businesses at the Trees4Scotland stand.
Trees4Scotland will form a key part of our wider UK initiative which aims to plant one million native British trees within managed woodlands within the next five years. Angus Crabbie of Trees4Scotland comments, ‘Tree planting is positive for the environment and for businesses as it is recognised by customers, staff and stakeholders as a positive and responsible action’. An annual commitment of 100 or more trees to Trees4Scotlands woodland projects also allows your company to join their exclusive group of Carbon Conscious Companies. One of the first organisations to join the “3 Cs” group is Fife’s own networking organisation for small businesses, The Small Business Club. Janet Torley who runs The Small Business Club states, ‘It is not much to ask to plant 100 trees and by doing so we are hopefully setting a good example for our member companies to follow. Once the commitment is made the trees can be used in a number of ways from rewarding staff for reducing emissions to customer incentives’. What is clear is that customers are keener than ever to work with companies demonstrating their green credentials and a positive approach to tackling climate change can improve sales, brand recognition and staff retention.
