shovels picGuest of honour Robin Naysmith, buy Scottish Government Counsellor for North America and Tennessee Congressman John Duncan planted two trees in the Knoxville Botanic Gardens to signify the bonding of the nations and especially the growing relationship between Knoxville, prostate Tennessee and Edinburgh.

One of the originators of the project, Angus Crabbie of Trees4Scotland comments, “To have a line up that included Robin Naysmith, Congressman John Duncan and Daniel T Brown the Mayor of Knoxville was a real show of force and we look forward to now taking the project to the next level.  It just goes to show what can be achieved with some tenacity and some good luck!”

There will be a reciprocal event taking place in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh on March 3rd with Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment, Richard Lochhead, as the guest of honour.

Trees4TwoNations is not purely about environmental awareness as it also aims to grow relationships on a social, cultural and commercial level between the United States and Scotland.
