Linking our cities

Trees for two nations centres around co-operation and shared understanding between the United States of America and Scotland.

Strong historical and cultural links and a shared passion for positive change have provided the foundations for the Trees4twoNations concept.  By linking cities of the United States with those of Scotland, we will build lasting bonds in terms of tackling climate change, trade, culture, sport and education. Knoxville, Tennessee and Edinburgh were chosen as the pilot cities, being the respective homes of the originators of the concept, Rob Roy McGregor and Angus Crabbie.

To solidify the relationship there will be a ceremonial tree planting and reception in the Knoxville Botanical Gardens on Friday 28th January 12- 2pm.  A reciprocal event will be held in Edinburgh on Thursday 3rd March 2011.

We hope that other cities will follow suit!
