The Gathering 2009

Teaghlach Wood was born and we are delighted to say that it has been well supported by many of you who are reading this now. We took a stand in the Experience Scotland tent at the event itself and were delighted to meet lots of great people from all over the world.

Names found on the board!

We even brought our ‘rowan’ honours board to the event and as you can see from the photos some of you who attended found your names on the board. The rowan board is for anyone who plants 5 trees with us. We also have a birch board for 10 trees and special oak plaques for anyone who is responsible for planting 100 or more trees with us.

Meeting some of our overseas supporters was a real thrill and re-emphasised to us the fact that Teaghlach Wood is truly unique – there is nothing like it anywhere in the world! So thanks a lot for planting the trees – contributions have been made from Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, The States, Canada, Holland, England, Hong Kong, Japan…and many more great places!

You can see Angus getting interviewed at the event by clicking here.

We found that people have planted trees in memory of loved ones, as gifts for those back home and for a variety of other great reasons.

We really do appreciate your support because without you the woodland would not be a reality. Our ultimate goal is for ALL visitors to Scotland to plant at least one tree – because we need them! Scotland has some really ambitious climate change targets and a key part of the achievement strategy is to plant lots of trees.

We hope that you will all spread the word to your friends and family and continue the great work that has been started on this truly special project.
