Glasvegas headline Saturday 13th August
NME Award winning band Glasvegas have just been revealed as a headline act at The Famous Grouse Festival on Saturday 13th August. The Famous Grouse Whisky & Music Festival will run for the first time on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th August at Scotland’s oldest working distillery, The Famous Grouse Experience in scenic Perthshire.
The Glasgow band is no stranger to the festival scene having performed at festivals around the world including Glastonbury, T in the Park and Oxegen. They released their 2nd album, Euphoric Heartbeat, in April after their debut album, Glasvegas, went platinum in the UK. Glasvegas have also played with some of the biggest names in music including Oasis, The Kings of Leon, U2 & Coldplay. Glasvegas will top the bill of acts including Skerryvore, Jill Jackson and Manran. Headlining the Friday evening is Runrig legend Donnie Munro, with performances from Michael Marra and Eric Faulkner of the Bay City Rollers. The Famous Grouse Master Blender, Gordon Motion, will be on site to host exclusive whisky tastings and introduce visitors to The Famous Grouse Family: The Famous Grouse, The Black Grouse and The Snow Grouse. Mixologist Andy Gemmell, best known for his regular appearances on The Hour, will be conducting cocktail demos throughout the festival.
The music and whisky festival will run from 4.30pm to 10.30pm on Friday 12th August and from 3pm to 10.30pm on Saturday 13th August at The Famous Grouse Experience in Crieff. Ticket prices are £30 per day and are now on sale from www.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.ticketsoup.com Tickets are restricted to those aged 14 and above and all over 18s will be treated to three free drams (25ml measure). Disabled access and parking is available on prior request.
